I’m very self-conscious about exercising in front of anyone. This includes my husband, my kids, and my BFF. I feel like everyone’s eyes are on me. That’s the main reason I don’t have a gym membership. I used to be a member, but I always felt like everyone was judging me because I’m a big girl. Because of this, I looked into free home workouts.
Of course, YouTube has a ton of home workouts available and you can save them to playlists for future reference. YouTube is a free service, as long as you don’t mind the ads. I have a smart TV and it has a YouTube app so I’m able to stream videos on my television instead of the computer or tablet. If there’s an area you want to focus on, YouTube has a video for it.
Amazon Instant Video
If you’re an Amazon Prime member, you have this service free of charge – use it! There are all kinds of videos available; all you have to do is search for them. In your Amazon search bar, make sure you click the drop down arrow and select Amazon Video. I searched for “exercise” and a bunch of videos were displayed. Choose the ones you want and add them to your watchlist.
I just learned of this nifty website about a week or so ago. I used to be a member of SparkPeople way back in the day, before I found LoseIt, and it was okay. I moved away from it when I got my first FitBit because it wasn’t compatible, although it is now. Anyway, there are almost 600 home workout videos on this website alone so there’s something for everyone.
With all the free home workouts available online, why spend the money for a gym membership? I can’t think of a reason to spend $50+ per month plus a joining fee. I have much better uses for my money than paying for something I probably won’t use.
